The Carole Nash Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic
Newark Showgrounds, Drove Lane, Winthorpe, Newark, Nottinghamshire NG24 2NY
A kick-start to the new classic motorcycling year, it offers a welcome respite from the hectic holiday season, and a chance to get lost in exploring the hundreds of stunning classic machines on display. With a good mix of traders, dealers and autojumble plots, it’s the perfect place to grab a box of parts and spares, as well as finding that inspiration needed to finish your restoration for a summer of riding… or perhaps pick up a new project.

British Extreme Enduro Championship Round 1
Parkwood 4×4 Centre, Tong, Bradford, BD4 0RR
The first race of the 2019 series will begin, as in previous years, at the very popular Parkwood 4×4 Centre. The event has seen some nail-biting racing on a course that challenged riders of all abilities over the last few years, following the same format as in 2018 with a two-hour morning race for Sportsman, Sportsman Vets and Youth and a two-and-a-half-hour afternoon race for Clubman, Elite Vets, Experts and Championship.
Prices: Competitor entries: £85, Spectators: Free (TBC)
Arenacross Round 1 & 2
SSE Arena, 2 Queens Quay, Belfast BT3 9QQ
Hugely popular with families, this import from the States has everything – stunts, racing and a tinnitus-challenging atmosphere. Better still, it’s all indoors so it can’t be rained off. The tours is less ambitious than previous years, but it’s still held at various venues until the end of February, so if you want to see some back-flips, 360’s and actual competitive racing, get in quick.
Prices: Adults from £20.50, kids from £14.75
Springfields Motorbike Show
Springfields Events & Conference Centre, Camelgate, Spalding, Lincolnshire, PE12 6ET
An annual event on the motorcycling calendar, this early show features numerous bike displays, stands and stalls. Expect there to be some famous faces too, as this event regularly features stars from the race and road riding worlds. In 2020, the star of the show will be BSB’s Danny Buchan.
Prices: Adults: £7, Kids over 5: £3.
The Taverners Sporting Trial
Crossways Farm, Stainby, Lincolnshire, nearest postcode NG33 5QP.
This classic trial has classes dedicated to girder/rigid machines (pre-41), pre-57 telescopic/rigid machines, fully “suspendered” four-strokes and two-stroke machines. There is also a youth class for riders aged under 16. All entrants must be members of the VMCC or AMCA. Closing day for the entries is the last Monday before the trial. For more information contact the Trials Section of The Taverners.
Normous Newark Autojumble
Unless there is a significant show element involved, we haven’t listed every autojumble and swap meet in the Motorcycle Events Calendar. Likewise, unless there is a hefty bike activities element, we haven’t included many club rallies or biker-only music festivals, unless they’ve got a great reputation. This is mainly a list of the larger or more specialist bike-focussed events, plus we’ve added in the major sports bike race events.
All prices are on-the-gate prices for a single day visit, unless otherwise stated. Other ticket prices may be available in advance, as well as concessionary prices. See event websites for more details.
